These do not pick up cat hair embedded into the carpet.

However #1, they can be mod'd to pull the hair directly off of your cat, thus eliminating the need to vacuum it from your carpet.

I wouldn't buy it for carpet, but hardwood and tile it works great for pet hair.

My dau got one and the first thing it did was went to the bathroom and grabbed the 3 year old off the pot. Poor kid will never go there again.
