The combo deal w/ this is nice if you are looking to make a dirt cheap media center pc. Although I'm not sure about the onboard video gamble.

Using this mobo now and it's a good basic board. It works but expect 0% overclocking ability.

I don't think I've ever had an ECS run trouble free out of the box.

ECS are really cheap at Fry's electroincs, everyone takes them back and you get the 10% open box discount. But there is probably a reason they take them back.

    Yep, there's a reason.

The reason is most people want the proc at a good price. The frys combo usually is like getting the mobo for free. I bought a few of those frys combo with ecs mobo. I can tell you this much, they work. If you just need something that just work, ECS is not bad. I believe they make other folks mobo as well. I never had an ECS mobo failed on me yet mainly because I use it as it was intended; straight up machine. No OC.

Bought mine at Fry's and am using it now with E8500 intel. Also using dual boot vista /xp pro.I have had good success.By the way
it was a combo deal for less than the processor sells for now.

Was that the $135 one-day sale? I almost got that one but I'm hoping they come out with s similar deal but with a quad core.
