The reason is most people want the proc at a good price. The frys combo usually is like getting the mobo for free. I bought a few of those frys combo with ecs mobo. I can tell you this much, they work. If you just need something that just work, ECS is not bad. I believe they make other folks mobo as well. I never had an ECS mobo failed on me yet mainly because I use it as it was intended; straight up machine. No OC.
