This is insane:"Subprime credit card...","Approved regardless of credit history...", and "Free unlimited purchase transactions...." It would have made sense as an April Fool's joke. Where are the regulators? Is this where the TARP money went?

Banks like Horizon are part of the problem. I don't think helping them with getting customers is a great idea, Ben. Seriously.

I'd hardly call a credit card that you need to deposit money into as being a bargain.

As always, the large print giveth and the small print taketh away. Watch for fees and surcharges. Nothing's free, and somebody has to pay for the risk of extending credit this way.

Good post Mr. Ed. This certainly looks like a scam. The only question is: Who's being conned?

Notice the "Secured" and "prepaid", which basically means its more like a debit card than a credit because you'll have to pay the money up front

Also the Horizon Gold Card isn't even a Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, Discover, or any other kind of traditional Credit Card. So, you can't just use it anywhere like the debit card from your bank. (which is more useful, except for the reporting to credit bureaus)

Do people like sethook ever get tired of talking out of their asses?

Geezus, people, it's PREPAID/SECURED. It's like an ATM card, except your transactions go down as credit purchases and get reported to the credit bureaus. No free money here. I used one a long, long time ago to build up credit, when banks weren't handing out credit cards to your household pets. The Horizon card seems pretty sketchy, though.

You are exactly right Sethook. Send all payments to Obama- he will save us. Look at all the good he has done so far.
