Not a deal because it comes with a 3 cell battery.

I had this laptop for 2 months - It's a fine netbook, but decided to go up to 14" laptop.
A 9-cell (7-8 hour) battery can be had for this MSI netbook $65 on ebay.

I have this netbook and I love it! The 3-cell is significantly smaller and lighter than the 6-cell, and is a good solution for people who don't necessarily need to run their machines for 5+ hours between charges. I did a few hardware mods, including boosting the RAM to 2GB, adding a Bluetooth module (which comes with the 6-cell version, but not with this one), and swapping out the trackpad for a Synaptics. The ASUS Eee 1000HE (which can be had for as low as $350) is probably a better solution for netbook shoppers. But since I scored mine for $250 as an open-box item on NewEgg, the Wind U100 was worth it for me.

looks like ubuntu 9.04 is not supporting the wind yet for some reason. Stick with the eeepc 1000 for 50 bucks more.
