    Not much end-user info available online for it.

    Personally i'd research the matter thoroughly before sinking hundreds into a camcorder.

    If this is a brand-spanking new model w/ little in the way of review info, I'd put it off for a few months and let others be the early adopters. If there actually is some good info, read it before buying. I personally like the JVC brand and I doubt this is a piece of garbage, but is it the best you can get for $400? I have no idea. Plus, there usually isn't just one "best" in a price range. There's usually 2 or 3 best models, depending on your needs.

    The video quality in light is terrible for most jvc's I have used a minidv and 30 gb hd camcorder and they are both terrible.
