Want to see some VERY UNHAPPY people? Check out the Sansa View's owner forum:
http://forums.sandisk.com/sansa/board?board.id=view
I think their primary concern is that the last firmware update was the middle of last year, and yet there seem to be numerous bugs (too many to list).
My 2 cents: I bought a refurb last year, and it seems to hold battery power well, sound is great (not quite as good as the Clip), video is MP4 (easy to convert with Any Video Converter) and watchable in 30-60 minute increments, cover art is good. Problems? My two main gripes are (1) it has an incredibly slow fast-forward function (scans in 10second jumps...WTF), which is a huge pain for podcasts, and (2) track lists are very buggy (items sometimes repeat many times).
Owners at the forum complain endlessly that there is no true folder support, that is, you have to make a playlist if you want to organize your tracks by artist, genre, etc. Can't just drop into folders and navigate to the one you want.

I bought the 8GB refurb a while back, and have been happy with it. My Nano still blows it away in sound quality and overall 'sexiness', but it was 4x as much money. This has FM receiver for the gym, and can be tossed around more than #5's wifey.

How long does the battery last on this?

The battery on this one is shorter than the battery on the E series by quite a bit. Probably about 6-8 hours of continuous audio play maybe? Much less if you're mucking about with the screen.
Love this for car trips and flights. I'd never buy another item from eCost, but this is a great device.

If you find the older e200 (or e200R) model available, grab one and install the latest stable Rockbox build. I own one and it eats my girlfriend's iPod for breakfast.
