Used it to clone the drive in a lappy to a Hitachi 320GB 7200 RPM HD. The top and/or bottom slides off by depressing the latch near the front. The PC board pops out for easy installation, and you can screw down the drive to it if your going to be carrying it around. The SMALL LED changes color when reading or writing, and it has a small toggle switch in front to shut it down if your just using it for backup. It has a port for a 5V DC PS(not included), but with the dual headed USB cable you won't need it. And one of the USB connectors has a pass-thru so you only end up using one port. Much better deal IMHO.
