Newegg has the A-Data 8GB MicroSDHC Class 4 Flash Card with SD Card Adapter for $18 with free shipping. This should provide plenty of storage space for your portable device. [Compare]

Well that's not a deal at all, second tier brand and not class 6. Get either Kingston/Sandisk class 4 or Transcend class 6 at this price.

To serve up tunes on a phone, you don't need a fast card.

If its for an android phone, pay for the higher classes. They are working on adding support for running apps off the sdcard, and thats where you will notice a huge slowdown. Also, I am currently running a 16GB class 2 card and when listening to music and doing other stuff like looking at photos the music skips. It doesnt happen with an 8GB class 6 card. Just FYI.

The card will outlast whatever device you plan to use it in, so as always it is to your advantage to buy a faster card, and those who don't think about it much won't realize with many devices you benefit from the faster write speeds when uploading content from your PC, not only on a portable device.

These isn't a "second tier" compared to Kingston, Kingston buys odd lots and slaps their label on. Sandisk on the other hand, like Kingston, tends to overprice their cards. A-Data is fine quality and if you can get a faster card or cheaper card going with A-Data, you're better off.
