While it’s FX-8100... a AMD OEM offering lessen with 2.8GHz, just a 6450 1Gb discrete graphics that's just tolerably sufficient, relinquishes 2Gb to just 6GB DDR3, and 1Tb HDD storage. IDK, which has real value?
The Intel I-B chip is maybe $30-40 extra, but who's going to notice any "seat of the pants performance" web-browsing or emailing? Another $40 in discrete graphics and $30 for extra 2Gb and 1Tb HDD. So tops $110 and I'm being charitable. I can't envisage why someone would forfeit $150 for this Intel box. Me, buy the AMD box buy a find a 6670 DDR5 and sell the 6450 for $20. This link has FX-8120 so both are 3.1Ghz... http://www.cpu-world.com/Compare/361/AMD_FX-Series_FX-8120_vs_Intel_Core_i5_i5-3450.html
Hum... $150 reduction and still $600!
Sure lavish processing power, with gratifying discrete graphics, memory up to snuff, and abundant storage, while a good FSP 300W PSU. But what’s it really going for... home use, web, multitasking it still feels a slightly pricy. Sure there's the obligatory i5 surtax, and several elevated components, but consider this basically analogous Acer chassis/PSU build that's $450.
