Seems like a rather strange aspect ratio (1.78 : 1) for the display.

Resolution is 16:9. Not 1080p but okay for 720p and watching DVD.
Has HDMI but no blu-ray drive.
Wish it has Blu-Ray for this Price.

And for some reason HP/Acer are the ones that come out with this Aspect Ratio. Not that useful compare to the more popular 16:10 since you lose the some space on the top. Though works fine for watching movies.

I find that it works best with a tilted laptop stand that compensate for its shortcomings and easier on my neck.

#2 in a notebook? I guess so.. I haven't really been keeping track of notebook display sizes. I was never a fan of widescreen notebook displays in the first place - prefer more vertical pixels, and I haven't mastered the art of typing one handed sideways before anyone suggests that.

This is a powerful laptop for the price. If you are in the market for a desktop replacement/media center, this is definitely something to consider.

yep (to #4). But then again I have an HP (that i just bought last weekend). Apparently only HP/Acer come out with this aspect ratio according to #3. I've only looked at HP models so i assumed they were all the same. No matter, it looks great. It is 16:9 display
