Unless you watch widescreen movies on your computer all day, 16:10 is stupid, and 16:9 is more stupid. It's all marketing BS to get you to buy screens with LESS area for the same price. You want more vertical space and less horizontal for typical PC uses such as reading web pages.

Yes, it's all marketing BS. Every year, monitors are getting smaller and smaller for the money we pay for them. Man, I long for the days when I could buy a 15" 4:3 monitor for the same price as a 26" 16:9 monitor, nowadays.

People vote with their dollars. If nobody bought these monitors, companies wouldn't make them. If everyone were still buying 4:3 monitors, then companies would still make them. Why don't you do something "stupid" and buy a 16:10 or 16:9 monitor and turn it 90 degrees and stop your retarded bitching. I'm perfectly seeing 2 documents/web pages side by side and watching my movies w/the minimal amount of black bars on top and bottom.

      Yeah, what #2 said.

Besides, this class of monitors is glomming off the popularity (and price drops) in the small-screen television set market.

Man I miss my 65 pound 22" Viewsonic CRT with a flat non-glare tube. One was enough because I couldn't afford a second.

No actually I really don't. These two 22" Viewsonic LCD's will do me just fine. Oh hey wait, let me look over my shoulder, oh hey look at that it's a 23" Dell LCD right over there! Mind you all three of these LCD's cost less than that single Viewsonic CRT.

I do prefer 16:10 to 16:9 but it's not all bad. These have VESA mounting holes so put them on a Neo-Flex rotating stand and voila you have 1920 vertical resolution on demand.
