I'd get this if it were 1920x1200. I have a 22" at work that is only 1680x1050 and everything seems too big to me.

I agree, #1. It's unfortunate that all the 22" LCDs are the same resolution as 20".

Run of the mill 22" monitor from the specs, favorable reviews at Newegg though.

I think for things like movies and office work (eg. spreadsheets) widescreen works best. But nowadays, widescreen monitors are becoming more and more the norm. IMO, I don't like Acer...no reason, they just didn't give me my rebate awhile back Wink

I got my rebate #7... Anyways Ive had it for a while and other that the low viewing angle it does the job. BTW i paid $200 for mine over a year ago. I will say that if I could go back I would have gotten something like the 22" samsung for $20 more.

Acer's the biggest producer of screens on this planet.

I bought a 21.6" Acer from Staples last month for about this price...great picture, no dead pixels. Only complaint is, after I set the resolution to 1680x1050, the resolution defaults to 1440x1050 if I turn back on after it's been turned off. Might be a driver thing, but I can't find an INI file or Registry setting that makes it start in 1680. Damn annoying.

i just got on couple of weeks ago from staples and paid $170 for it when it was on sale. the monitor is amazing. i would say $160 is a pretty good deal.

Good monitor, I've had mine for over 1year, got it for about $120 in an Office Depot double coupon + rebate price error. One problem I had was noise, apparently from the backlight supply. Service was not so great, but after huge hassle Acer replaced it and all has been fine since.

Narrow viewing angle is its main drawback, not important if you are using it on a desk and viewing withinabout a 15 degree cone. The Frys Emprex is similar in form and quality, and cheaper (have that too). I also have a Dell high end 24"- noticibly better gamut and very wide viewing angle, but for desk work the Acer is fine.

Pretty much agree with most of the comments above, except the resolution stuff- I believe that is a problem with the drivers and Gatesian XP settings on their PC, not the monitor.

Yes Acer is reliable. I'm using their 19inch right now.

I also agree with the posters about 1900x1200 being superior but I also bought my 19inch for $199 two years ago so this is an ok deal.

I bought one of these at Provantage.com yesterday. This one is $2 cheaper than I paid. Should have searched BB before buying. <smack>
I have another Acer. Works great. Good res. This one has a nice high contrast ratio. I'll post again when I know how good the thing works on my Mac.
