the x223w has both analog(vga) and dvi connectors. it was slightly less on black friday but that was in store(stand in line before dawn) and had a big rebate. 22" seems to be the biggest monitor you can get for reasonable cost, the 25s are around $250

OD stores are closing all over the country. I would wait to see if they stay in buisness before you buy anything at their B&M stores. The one by me is in it's last days of clearance, and the next closest store is 30-miles away. Now I'll go to staples. They have better sales, and the products are in stock most of the time.

Widescreen monitors are stupid and ill-suited for PC usage.

These are decent monitors for the money. 3yr Acer warranty, so who cares if OD goes bust? Check for dead pixels the day you pick it up.

Widescreens for computer usage are perfect - multi apps open, ect. Well I guess unless your computer and braino are both single core then you can only handle 1 app open anyways.

#7 seems to feel superior about something s/he had no part in designing and no choice whether to purchase or avoid in any modern larger monitor. That's kinda dumb.

OD is going out of business? I didn't know that... Thanks for the news though. I really though they would have gone out of business a few years ago.

Is it worth the extra money to step up to a 24" model from this one, or is 22" plenty? I have a 17" LCD right now and am looking for an upgrade. No HDMI on this one, not sure if I care at this point, but that would be nice.

i think a 22" is plenty. the difference in price in jumping to the 24" is not really worth it, unless you can get one for cheaper from a friend or something.

#11, you could get an hdmi-dvi adaptor for around $2-3
or get the hdmi-dvi cable on here, I think it was $7

Go with 24" instead of 22" if the budget will allow it without dropping in LCD panel quality. Unless you must game on it with too limited a budget to get an adequate video card to handle the higher resolution, 24" is desirable for the obvious reasons, more space so you do less scrolling and toggling of multiple windows.

As for why to have a secondary computer, why not? When you upgrade it's hardly worthwhile to sell the old parts considering their value, you know the parts and already have an OS and apps installed so no time spent setting a system up, plus the redundancy is always nice if there's a hardware failure or windows craps itself.

Use coupon codes and get free items with your monitor:

cheap CD player w/ speakers 79726984
    tiny digital photo frame 63511665
    silly black travel bag 25410881

just add the code, click on the more info button and add the item to your cart. Might not be something you would buy... but free is free Wink
