NewEgg.com has the Acomdata 1TB pureDrive Dual Interface (USB 2.0 & eSATA) External Hard Drive for $100 + $0 shipping = $100 shipped. The design dissipates heat so efficiently it doesn't need a fan.
I have a acomdata 160gb that's been going strong for past 3 years. it also doesn't have fan, so very quiet. I'm wondering if heating is more a problem for larger drives.
Actually, it's $110, and more than a quarter of the reviews gave it a 3 or less out of 5.
A terrabyte drive in a fanless case is just asking for problems.
