i have one of these loaded with bluray backups. no problems with heat or anything, but this obviously isn't some crazy awesome deal.
edit: that's not to say it doesn't get warm. by the time i'm done watching a movie, it's definitely warm, but i haven't noticed it get really not.
The WD drive in my AcomData died sometime around 16 months old - and with only a 12 month warranty, I am stuck with a nice metal doorstop. Thank goodness for backups - but that is why I buy external HDDs, and I expect them to work more than 12 months...
