Got one 500GB model from Acomdata last year that the enclosure failed after light use, the hdd is still good.
Yo #1, lay off the pipe holmes.
#5 got lucky. My 80 gig Acomdata enclosure took the drive with it. Smelled like burned electronics. I used it mainly to tranport my movies/mp3s on trips.
