When I used to use Windows, this prog would sometime destroy the backup file while in the middle of restoring it.
And it's a common issue among a lot of users.
Clonezilla is where it's at. And it's free.
thanks for heads up warthog...been using the older acronis forever and it never lets me down but maybe I'm lucky
You get to use it on one computer... Geez, do they think we're living in the 1990s still?
"Keeps track of how many and which machine it was installed on last and only limits to one installed license per machine. Makes you think they want to be like Microsoft."
Also, many reports of this program being buggy and unable to restore sometimes... Sounds like a large headache to me.
Try Easeus Todo Free.
I have used Clonezilla with no issues. On my Windows 7 PC's I use the integrated "Create a system image" which is easy to use and I have had no negative issues with.
I tried Clonezilla once. What a pain to use. For what I do (cloning) Acronis usually works. Unfortunately, after reading the reviews, I think I'll skip a year. Maybe they'll notice that producing junk lowers sales.
sreynolds, I told myself to skip a year last year but 2012 seems to be just as bad if not worse.
I got version 11 free within last 4 months. Why buy for rebate.
version 10 was better then things started going downhill.
Used to be I wanted the next newer version of software, but now I wish they'd just quit screwing apps up and fix the existing bugs.
Anybody remember Powerquest's DriveImage? It could run from a bootable FLOPPY DISC.
