I have one of these. Works well. Just a simple code reader, but it comes with a small booklet that lists the basic description of the universal codes. Any car specific codes you'll have to look up in a service manual or internet.
I have one too. It requires a special decoding device to crack the very secretive codes. I have been trying to release the codes but am being followed and am under constant surveillance since I cracked the codes. All of the major car manufacturers are following me and tapping my phones and televisions with impregnated calibration small machines.
I have the larger model that gives a basic code description, not enough to really help, but a starting point. I find better information about the codes on the web.
My unit also has the ability to reset the code so that I can see if it was an errant code or a real issue.
Also like taking the car into the shop and telling them the codes. Lets them know I know enough about car repair to tell if they try to rip me off.
