These are decent if large for a HTPC or a presenter but funky for a main keyboard.
If you keep the USB transmitter in the back of your PC, your range will be significantly less than 100 feet. Even when it's in the front, I have to make sure that I'm facing the transmitter if I'm going to type at regular speeds. Otherwise, it'll miss half my keystrokes.
Yeah, I had to put a USB extension on mine and set the dongle on top of my htpc for better reception. But for what it is and what it costs I think it's great.
I use BTC instead of Adesso due to lower cost and works well for my HTPC. You can get BTC unit for around 25-30 something @ regular price. I got mine for $19.99 AR at Frys a while ago...
as previously mentioned, this works fine as an HTPC kbd. i would not use this for everyday use. even for just browsing the web...i'm right handed but the thumb trackball is not the easiest to navigate. but i didnt want to spend $100+ for a dinovo...so this was a good option.
Great for HTPC because you can use trackball holding the KB in both hands, I probably would not be crazy using it as a main keyboard, key feel is not quite to my style. I have my HTPC set up behind my TV (42" LCD), I also moved the receiver dongle to the front of the case for better reception, even though total distance to the couch was only about 17', it made a noticeable difference.
I have one, good for htpc use but range kinda sucks
