100 feet - amazing distance: you may confuse your friend in his PC in neighbor apartment on 04/01.
I have one and it's a decent wireless keyboard for a HTPC but a but too large. I switched to the Lenovo.
I have one of these on my HTPC; it works well enough but is semi-hungry for batteries. I like the size. You can actually type on it, and the trackball is workable.
I have this keyboard for my media pc, and it is just fantastic. The size is big enough to type, but compact enough not to be in the way on the coffee table, and the trackball is a must. Mine has not been rough on batteries yet, but I mostly use it as a glorified remote control.
Reviews say it's a little fragile, so I bought the extended warranty, but I've had no trouble on that front yet.
I've had this for a few years and a lot of the keys quit working but it was good for the price. In fact I've found it easier to use than my damned expensive dinovo edge.
#1, I can see how your neighbor would get confused:
"WTF is that rodeo cowboy next always door carrying around his wireless keyboard when he visits?!"
Love this keyboard in spite of the fact that just like *that* it shat the bed after only three months - still haven't contacted Adesso for an RMA but the warranty is good for a year.
Oh yeah, and this is not a deal. I picked it up last December from NewEgg for $44...
Recommend. I have both this and the Lenovo mini, and I end up using this one more because (1) it's a lot easier to type on if you have to imput more than a couple characters and (2) the trackball is a lot easier to use than the Lenovo. I would say this price ia about $10 higher than an actual deal.
Forgot to mention in my review #4, I was concerned whether this was compatible with Linux when I bought it. Plugged it in right out of the box and worked perfectly on my ubuntu box.
I also got mine around $45 ($50 with expanded warranty), so whether this is a steal for this item is debatable, but it is definitely a steal compared to the prices of other wireless keyboard/mouse combos available.
100 ft, right. more like 15ft.
Is there any Adesso keyboard owner also tried IOGEAR GKM561R 2.4GHz Multimedia Keyboard with Laser Trackball and Scroll Wheel
? Any real user comparison ??
