Then what happens after March 31? You have to buy it! Buy version 3 now, and when Version 4 is final, you may be able to upgrade at a discount.

I will rather wait for LR4 release date confirmed- then the real inventory clearance begins. Sure you can buy LR3 and upgrade later- But it probably will not be cost efficient. LR2 to LR3 upgrade cost $94@ Amazon and everybody knows upgrade is never as good a brand new version fresh install. Adorama is reputable seller so they are ok to price match yesterday's price with B&H. But how about other seller ? if they want to clean inventory- price will be their only weapon....
LR4 is supposed to release this spring and I don't think they will delay too long since SC6 is on it's way out.

If you think LR upgrade is a good path for you- maybe you should consider LR2 ( for around $20- $30 if available) and then buy upgrade version . Will that be more cost efficient ?

If you want to get LR3 for this price, and don't want to fuss with price match, just download the trial, and register it when you get the package from BH in a couple of weeks. I'm gonna use LR3 trial now, and buy LR4 later.
