LighTake has the Ainol Novo 7 Crystal 7" Android 4.1 8GB Tablet for $123 - $6 off with coupon code BENSBARGAINS = $117 with free shipping. Includes free gift with purchase.
Cortex-A9 dual core 1.5GHz, 1GB RAM, 8GB storage
Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, Mali-400 GPU, 1024 x 600 capacitive
2MP front camera, 3700MAh 5-hour battery, 12-oz weight
I have the elf2, which is basically the same hardware (slightly better screen) with ICS instead of Jellybean. Great inexpensive tablet. Battery life is incredible, and it is very, very fast. It will charge quickly from a usb port too, which is nice - as is hardware volume and home/back burrons. All in all I think it's a great tablet, but there are a few cons:
No bluetooth. No gorilla glass (I've been careful and gotten a few scratches). Netflix has never worked reliably for me, may be different with JB hdmi out is 'picky'. It seems to work with some TVs, but not others.
Ainol has released the source for ICS on the Elf2, so there is a pretty good chance they'll do the same for JB - that means decent rom support for the future.
wonder if this device has the full google market/google play access? I looked at some other low end device which have other market like "app lab", "lenovo app market" or other. google probably charges fee for the vendor license, not sure if that's the reason some devices don't have the full google play market. Thanks.
it does have the play store in the factory rom, from what I can can remember... the 3rd party roms extend available apps by spoofing different devices like a samsung or the nexus.
That's a good point. I ordered from one of the aliexpress stores and it took about 3 1/2 weeks. I read in the forums that Ainol had to close their factory for a week around the time the crystal was announced (a few weeks ago)- it was some problem with the supply chain for the Fire model if I remember right. That might delay things further too, I don't know.
Im concerned that if I need to RMA the tablet for any reason that I have to send it all the way to CHina or to deal with a warranty claim from China and so forth. I think I would rather wait a week for these to get imported into the USA and then purchase from a USA seller.
