the yahoo.com reviews say this thing is a piece of crap.

I had a similar version, but it was $140.. it took awesome video. The sound on the other hand was beyond horrible. Any video taken in a car sounded like jet planes taking off above a sea of washing machines and diesel engines. Horrible. The only way you could understand someone was to literaly put your mouth above the microphone... which defeats the purpose of having a video since the subject is too close. Even indoors it was hard to understand people.
