Does anyone have this? I am in the market for a 2.5 enclosure to store my old lappy hd to boot from.
Yeah, picked up two of 'em. They have a funky USB cable: USB-A to dual USB-A. The single end goes to the drive, and the dual end takes up two ports on your system or a _powered_ usb hub. Bottom line: this will require two ports on your 'puter and I know that's a baconbreaker if you own an ultra-light laptop with only one port.
The carrying case is cheesy and doesn't really accomodate more than the drive enclosure itself--cable doesn't fit.
I'm still glad I bought them. One's got a backup of my mp3 files, the other's a full-blown Linux installation for usb booting.
I don't know what's happening, but I didn't type "baconbreaker" I used the word spelled "d-e-a-l--b-r-e-a-k-e-r" and this forum modified my post.
Anymore comments before I pull the trigger? Two usb ports does suck.
Oh well 7 bucks shipping for me to Arizona
saw 1 for $8 2 days ago on here.
Dtitzer, have you tried using it with only one of the two USB plugs? I have a Vantec NexStar 2.5" that has a dual-USB end, and I've only used one plug with a dozen different computers and none have required both plugged in.
