OnSale.com has the Aluratek 11" Hi-Res Digital Photo Frame with 1GB on Board Memory on sale for $110, with free shipping after rebate. By "Hi-Res" they mean a resolution that can't be spoken, even on their own site.

Think about getting one with wi-fi. You can point it at RSS feeds like flicker, etc and not be bored with the same old pics.

Don't buy these as gifts. No one uses them. A regular picture you can glance at and be done. No one wants to sit there and have to watch what amounts to a home movie slide show. Plus they waste power.

Screen is 1024x768, but the aspect is 16:9. All content gets scaled in some manner.

#7, where did you see the screen resolution? I couldn't find it anywhere.

I see that this digital photo frame also plays videos - especially AVI (Divx) - that's a plus!

"Hi-Res" doesn't mean Obama... you need to know what resolution this has, and since they don't state it's probably crap

Some people think that 180x120 is hi-res. If they don't tell you what it is, assume the worst.

    http://pcworld.about.com/od/digitalcameras/The-Digital-Frame-Revolution.htm

    The resolution is 800 X 480

That is better than most digital frames but I wouldn't consider it "Hi-Res".

Well "Hi-Res" is certainly a relative term. It is much better than the rest but I do agree with #5 in that all they are are home movie slideshows and they distract you (by always changing). And they do waste power. But if someone wants one as a gift I wouldn't say "no"

Viewing angle is just as important as resolution. If you can't see the image off axis, doesn't matter what the resolution is. Many of these picture frames have terrible viewing angles. I recommend checking the one you're interested in at a B&M first.

I agree with #16, I have a digital picture frame at home and you have to be looking directly eye level with it to see things right.

This seems to be a pretty good frame. I hope it is for this price.

I'm looking for a frame that conects to a server daily and downloads new pictures. I know Cieva makes a product like this. Can anyone recommend other products with this feature? Thanks.

I hate digital photo frames. They're power-consuming annoyances. The few that I've seen were used for a few days, then turned off forever.
