I don't get what it does... you don't need a dongle for Internet radio, just an Internet connection.

OK, I went and read 10 minutes of buy.com testimonials, figuring I'd come back and teach you guys a thing or two. But jeeeeezus!!!!...I swear, I didn't learn anything! All I can say for sure is: (1) it is no more than a USB-loaded software package, and (2) it catalogs internet radio stations/streams.

My best guess is that there are a lot of lazy people out there, who are very easily impressed by a nice GUI that keeps things organized for them. In other words--as probably a dozen reviews noted--they'd prefer the interface to help them find radio stations, then have to search and bookmark (for example, in Winamp or Mediamonkey) by themselves.

The only real benefit I could find is that as you build up a set of favorites, you just yank out the dongle and take it with you. Woop-dee-doo.

I am totally stumped by the few reviews that noted how great the sound was. WTF! These are the same streams you can access with any decent media player. THE SAME STREAMS!!!!

    Thanks #4, couldn't agree more. There's a review here
    http://www.testfreaks.com/blog/review/aluratek-usb-internet-radio-jukebox-airj01f-reviewed/
and if you want more take a trip to Google. Amazon sell it at $15.99 (last time I looked) and it is much easier to return it there than Buy.com if you don't like it.

#5, good link. It really is just an interface and catalog system for streaming internet radio. I have the Aluratek Wi-Fi internet radio and love it, it's like having a juke-box to over 10,000 radio stations catalogued in all sorts of ways, plus a bunch of other features.

Hard to plop down $15 for something that appears to just be a cheap USB stick with software on it, but it's worth it for the right person.

#8 Nah, I don't see it. It's not the most glowing endorsement if he is a shill.

If I can't get someone to buy a piece of software hey why don't we load the software on a USB device & sell the software that way?
