    I'm not seeing the point to this device. If I have to have:
    1) a USB port to plug the device into
    2) An internet connection

    Can't I just find the internet radio stations I want and stream them? I use a Rokio soundbridge for internet radio but it's just a display device.

    Yes, this is just their software on a USB drive, already set up with a bunch of stations. You can DIY without this product, but it might take you $8 worth of your time to set the whole thing up. It's one of those products you give as a gift to someone who doesn't want the bother of learning to do something like that, or has a mental block against it.
