Interesting Ben's not attaching the history (previously 3) on this FX-4100 deal, while if we link previous discussions Ben's calls his links spam!
Check CPU history, for past discussions.

Back 11/15/11 it was $105 with a code... almost better deal than the Egg Gift Card. I still say this should be at $90, but as other similar performing Phenom' chips start to dry or disappear these are what left and pricing continues strong.

MicroCenter has some Phenom deals like 960 Black Edition 3GHz for $110, or a X6 1045T 3GHz at 130, Egg has either a Athlon II X4 645 Propus 3.1GHz OEM (Free DiRbaconoupon w/ purchase) for $89; or for $110 (after a code EMCNJHF96) the Phenom II X4 960T Zosma 3.0GHz Box is the best deal.

Absolute POS processor. Get the Phenom II or Thuban unless you're retarded and don't read up on Bulldozer's epic failure.

Why does everybody hate this processor so much?

Is it only the 4100 model or the entire FX line?

Doesn't bode well for the future of AMD

Sure less than what all the forums were "anticipating" and not a step up from the last offerings... agreed; although I think that it was a marketing "faux pa"! Considering they knew they had a dud they should've never had executives beating the drum (some being rogue), or straddle it with the coveted FX moniker (they had aspirations when titling it "bulldozer" but no idea at the onset) which was the "oversell" that should have never been. Why Rory cleaned house in mostly marketing...?

Considering it's a complete deviation in architecture from old, and AMD has a pittance of R&D funds vs. Intel, to have the gumption to take that risk, even to finally release what they ended up with... isn’t the epic fail. It was a side step and slightly back and to the right. Though to still deliver what they ultimately did, there's no other company that could even imagine it.

They now have only forward; Trinity APU based on next gen Piledriver improvements look good and, could mean a start forward.

We heard the disappointment and crushing words "it didn’t beat Intel", heck they didn’t even one up their own, but that's behind us and them. I'm willing to look forward, staying back there just means less competition... are you advocate the "only Intel scenario"?
