I gave the reasons why it's the better chip -- do you want to sacrifice ALL of that so you can run a hotter, 1-2% ON AVERAGE (at best) better-performing CPU? Performance is so negligible, the only place that you'd really notice a difference is on heavy multi-threaded apps that aren't optimized, like, x264 encoding.

Personally, if my motherboard can support AM3+ CPUs, the FX is a better chip. Newer generation, less TDP, and faster clock speeds -- all for $5 more.
