Now basically 6 months on the market and this $140 price is right and the sweet spot. I was ok with this chips performance but at $170 and other Phenom X6 still in the market at better price it was hard to say Zambezi was a good buy. Today it's different in that Phenom are harder to get at good pricings while now many nice 970 mobo's are $85. That combo you can OC this nicely to get some great BfB.
Consider an 2500K and a good Z68 mobo is still more than $300 option, working the FX-6100 for a budget gaming machine provides similar performance (FpS) even when OC'n the i5, while providing something like $80 extra dollars to put toward a 6870 which is a great BfB card for a budget build.
