AMD chipsets SB710/SB750 I think. Check out Anandtech for how they unlocked one. The 'egg has these at $91, so this isn't much of a deal, even with FS. Who the fk is eWiz, anyway?

ewiz has been around for a while -- they used to have some great deals on motherboards -- free shipping and several dollars less than the 'egg. I'd put them maybe a notch above ZZF as far as customer service/reliability, but the 'egg still has everyone beat, except maybe Amazon.

Anyway, good stuff pointing out the 2-core unlock, #2. And yes, it is SB710/750.

#1 and #2 True and correct.. I own 2 of the Phenom II 550 3.1ghz. Paid 102 last year when they have only 20 reviews at NE. Put two, in 2 of my ASrock board 780 and clock it to 3.7ghz One can unlock to quad-core. and the other could'nt no matter what I do???.. The one with quad core runs stable at 3.4ghz on all 4 cores. and the other ones runs stable at 3.7ghz on 2 cores.. Funny.. I bought another Athlon II 240 2.8ghz and clock it to 3.7ghz with Gigabyte 785GMT and My Athlon seems running much faster than the Phenom. I like it so much, I bought the Athlon II 250 3.0ghz and clock it to 3.8ghz. One thing I can say, I love the 65watts cpu Save energy and easy on my electric bills, I'am running 4 port KVM switch on my 23" monitor.. If? With the Phenom II 965 3.4ghz your looking at least over 175watts for sure, Been testing these with the Kill-A-Watts meter.. If you thinking about saving energy, wants good performance and on a tight budget this is a best processor..

Most people are probably better off with a fast OC on a 2-core chip, than a slow 4-core anyway.
