Just to note, this processor does not support DDR3, and will not work in an AM3 motherboard. For that you want the Phenom II X4 945.

The Frys deal is really good. I don't think there's much of a performance jump from DDR2 to DDR3 for most applications.

I picked up that 805, got the last one 2 days ago. It went into my AM2+ mobo with no problems (95w), though I see little difference between it and the 9750 I had before. I'm going to upgrade to a 785 or 790 mobo, and I will then turn on ACC, which should enable to extra 2Mb of cache that's on die. Not a bad deal for $80.

Its a good, solid performing processor. Yes, no DDR3 support, but #7 is correct that the DDR3 performance gain is somewhat mythical.
