Remember when AMD was the faster processor for a cheaper price. Oh the good ol' Athlon XP days.

Oh it's just nice to have a two players on the field.
While the i7 & i5 are great CPU values for $25-40 more in some cases... tack on a good mobo and decent/proper ram and your easily bumping the $375 minimum. Even with 4Gb a good Kingston DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) your out the door for under $300, and most folk will never miss any performance discrepancy.

    Agreed #2.
At this point I will buy from AMD because they are catering to what I want: unlocked multiplier, quad core, virtualization, etc... all the while coming in cheaper than Intel. I don't care that it's not the fastest on the planet... I wouldn't buy Intel's fastest even if AMD didn't exist.

I would've liked the "black edition" cpu better!
