For those with a Microcenter nearby, you can get this processor with a choice of 1 of 3 motherboards for $10 more plus sales tax (where applicable):

I have M-C not 20 minutes away, but they seem to have mobo's I don't care for if I'm buy a 965 Black.

I mean a decent board to match that CPU, is say that Asus M4A87TD/USB3. That combo is $180, so the board is like $60, which is very good price. The problem is then check the Eggviews and it's barely 60%-5* on 119 people. Good price but... I don't know, is it a good backbone to work off and then find you don't like it?

Though as that same 965/Asus combe at Egg is $210 M_C the have good deals if it's what you want.

^You make a good point Casecutter, but the motherboards offered wouldn't necessarily have to be used with the CPU - some folks buying this higher end processor may like a little "bonus" project motherboard for less than $20 extra.

On the other hand, if one of the combos offers a CPU and motherboard someone was already considering, the $40 combo discount is pretty sweet.

^ And you have a good point! I never thought of it that way, but they're smart not offering that MSI 880GM board for $20 you'd have to move to the 880G-E45 AM3 ATX for $30 though a good deal ... that and a low end (oem) CPU ~$45 and cheap DDR2 ram and I'd have the extra pieces easily laying around.
But then I've outed another $100 for build a box I might get $200 for... I don't know if it worth the effort.

I actually had this on order at Amazon as it was the $135 price, but saved on Ca tzx... I had notice that no email saying it shipped hadn't shown? So just yesterday morning I checked the and just noticed it hadn't charged and was still saying I could cancel... I was like no bigg'y don't need it right now, while it was expected by next week so okay fine.

Then this popped-up, so did a cancel on that, and went to Egg and saved $5 even after giving my state their $9.90 (you're welcome) and today it's out for delivery to the house, Newegg RockS!
