Sounds like an overclockers dream. For the rest of use an i5 will have to give us our thrills - factory fast.

#2: This is faster at stock speed than an i5. 3.4ghz quadcore > i5 dual core.

My friend just built a computer with one of these, some OCZ 2000mhz DDR3 RAM, and a Radeon 5850.

Using a sub $20 cpu scythe cooler from newegg, he was able to hit 3.8ghz at stock voltage, and over 4ghz with a little voltage increase. Temperature never went above 52°C.

As you can imagine, it's a very fast machine.

It sounds fast, but according to the following website the Phenom II x4 965 is only slightly faster at stock speeds. despite the fact the i5 750 runs at 2.67. The i5 acts like 4 cores. AMD makes good CPUs, often the most bang for buck- especially with overclocking.

no, the i5-750 is a quadcore.

Apart from that one and the i5-760, the rest of the i5's are dual cores, and definitely offer lower performance than the AMD Phenom II x4 965.

The i5 quad cores are a little faster than this AMD quadcore, but they also cost more.
