Um, I had an AMD 80W 3.1 processor w/ a 500W power supply. It made things unbearably hot in my house. I switched out to a 45W + 400W and now I can't even tell I have a PC in my house. FYI.

it's a small apt -- to be more precise, it heated up the living area.

#1 if you have a 80watts 3.1ghz Processor, your talking about the Phenom II 550 They are not hot at all, I own two.. Pretty loud on mine thou, cause of the fans.. I like the 45watts cpu, I have 2 and they are very quiet, Use that to control everything in my house..

Seems like #1 didn't install the C&Q driver that throttles it down/undervolts, or had some bios bug that prevented it from working.

#1 lives in a discarded refrigerator carton so not much you can do there. You would think he would appreciate the heat source.
