I love this case. As much as a man-bot can love a case. Great airflow, lots of space and bays. Only odd-ball thing is that the power supply must sit at the bottom of the case, which is unusual. I paid more than $50 a few months ago.
This is a good value. That said, it is not the most quite case out there. I have it and wish I has spent a bit more on something with more sound deadening.
#2 you can get sound dampening kits from computer modification websites like coolerguys.com. They are inexpensive and will make you quietly happy.
This is a great alternative to it's bigger brother, the Nine Hundred. It's a little bit smaller, but still has great airflow (plus, it's cheaper)
This is a great case. It is hard to go wrong with Antec cases though. Put some SilenX fans in there and you won't have any noise issues at all.
#1, placing the PSU on the bottom will improve internal thermal distribution, most high end new cases have the PSU bottom mounted.
The only complaint I have for this case is that it doesn't have any external 3.5" bay.
Good case.
note that it doesn't come w/ front fans (spots for 2 120's). order 3 fans (another for the side panel) w/ it...
i have this and a nine hundred, and the side panel of the 300 cools video cards better. it's nothing the dremel won't solve, but this cools things nicely.
One of my favorite cases.
Unless you are OCing there is no need for the (2) front 120mm fans. The (2) included fans provide great air flow while being quiet. (on low setting of course)
I put in the 2 front 120mm fans to blow air directly across my 1TB'ers.....HD cool = longer life.
#2: I have experimented with sound-deadening old cases with auto undercoating. It comes in spray cans, and it works pretty well. Readily available at any auto parts store. Just spray (from the inside), the 2 side panels, the top and bottom, let dry, and enjoy a quieter case. Or, you can get some of those peel & stick sheets made for car doors, floor, ect. and use those. Cut with a knife to fit those odd places. Also from the parts store. They work good too.
Here's an easier method: Just buy better quality, low noise components.
I have and really like my 900,But I wish The 1200 was next to my desk. So the 300 is out.
