Power supply does not have any third party listings indicated on the label. No UL - stay away.

#1: you're correct. You really should not use the included power supply, it's junk. The 12v rail drops to around 10v even at around 250watts(which will crash your computer). Anything much higher than that just causes the power supply to shut down. The specs on the label are completely fabricated.

A normal ATX power supply will fit in, as long as it's not longer than normal, and if your optical drives are of the shorter variety.

The OCZ StealthXStream 500watt PSU that has been on sale several times for $20 and less would probably fit in here nicely, as it's a pretty compact PSU.

Here's a review of the power supply, as well as a description of the space you'll have for your optical drives with a normal ATX PSU: http://www.jonnyguru.com/PSU/AspireXQpack/420W.html

This case is pretty nice, it's just a pity that they had to include such a terrible power supply with it.

There are some other micro ATX cases similar to this that have more space for the power supply, allowing you to use normal size optical drives with a normal sized power supply. The Ultra Microfly case is one of these, and it has been on sale before(a while ago) for $40 on Frys.com. Unfortunately, current prices are more around $70 and up for that case.

Or, if you need even more room, you might consider the NZXT Rogue. It can fit the largest graphics cards, extra-long high-wattage power supplies, and up to 4 hard drives. Plus, it has a very good cooling configuration. However, it does cost more. link: http://www.nzxt.com/products/rogue/

CompWiz17 thanks for the advice, but I read it the other times you posted it for this item. I would like to get the Ultra Microfly for that price, but I haven't seen it for a price that low since I started looking awhile ago. I would also like to get the power supply you suggest, but again I've never seen it at that price. You may what to update your advice to current prices.

#3: ok, I updated the Ultra case paragraph to include that.

As for the OCZ StealthXStream, that power supply has been going on sale for $20(+/- $10) for well over a year and a half now. It was on sale last month for $30, and it's currently selling for $40 on newegg, w/ free shipping.

I purchased it earlier this year for $15 at newegg, and it's been working nicely since then.

I bought this case for $15 from a thrift store a couple weeks ago. It is in the original box, and seems to have never been used. I'm thinking of moving my current system into this case once I get all the parts to put a new system in my current Sonata case.

My current system only draws 65.W input power from my existing 80+ efficiency power supply, so maybe the included power supply will handle it for occasional use, or perhaps I can use one of the other supplies I have.

#5: 65watts is fine. You should be able to run that on this power supply.

Just be sure to keep dust from building up in your case and power supply. Cheap capacitors can fail when they have insufficient airflow cooling them.

My power supply died within the first week of running not very much stuff (1 optical drive, 1 hard drive, no extra sound/video cards).
