Whoa. In spite of the coarse language in this thread, Apple products rock.

Yeah, pretty offensive language there unnecessarily. Apple products are aesthetically pleasing and they do seem good quality, but #1 is right - Apple is expensive.

      OK, here's a challenge - let's find similarly specced machines elsewhere. I doubt they'll be $425.

Here's a better challenge - find a PC with similar specs to this that is more expensive, go ahead.

I agree with #2 and his coarseness. Everytime an Apple deal is posted, someone comes along and posts up an irrelevant and unhelpful insult about the product.

I recently purchased a Macbook Pro after being a PC guy for a long time. I am extremely pleased with the value of my investment. As a power user and bargain hunter supreme, I really love the quality of the build, the ease of use, and lack of problems over the last 7 months.

So this Macbook is the same as my MBP except the backlit keyboard and the aluminum case.

Buy one if you can afford it, this is a good price.

one thing i hate about using Macs: every window on the desktop shares the same space for their menu-bar on the top. why can't they just be like windows where every window conveniently has their own menu-bar? having to move my mouse constantly up and down is a real drag, and not being able to right click just adds salt to the wound...

Bought the Apple for college student around the same time as an HP similar to the one above. The HP has had a repair to the case and the battery is virtually dead once unplugged. The apple is still usable unplugged and no hardware troubles. I would prefer a pc because of price but other factors make it a tough choice.

#9 - Please find one of those with a 13" screen and I'll let you win.

I've probably owned 30+ PCs and 5 Macs. I just got this model for my wife. Probably the first time in 25 years that I can say the price of a Mac is on par with the price of a PC (with the same specs and quality of build.)

Don't forget to factor in all the software you'll need to repurchase if you decide to go to the dumbed down side, Apple...

The future holds no Winblows machines and/or if you want to conquer the future, use a Mac. Anything else you need to know?

con-quer: to gain a victory over; surmount; master; overcome

de-feat: Winblows; a bringing to naught; frustration; the act or event of being bested; losing
