BestBuy.com has the refurbished Apple 16GB iPod Touch (1st generation) for $220 + shipping. Free iTunes $15 Gift Card with purchase. It has 802.11b/g WiFi built in, and because of that they include the Safari web browser + YouTube, complete with the functionality that you've seen on the iPhone. Battery life is 22 hours audio, 5 hours for video.

I think this price have been a regular deal on buy.com, so there shouldn't be a rush to get this deal if any potential buyers want to capture a good deal right away.

I have been reading 2009 predictions all day, so here's one for #5: a 60GB touch for $220 by the end of the year.

Pay the extra money for the 2nd generation. The external volume controls and extended battery life are nice, but the internal speaker is a huge improvement over the 1st gen!

#7, I agree that the improvements on the 2g are worth it...but it still seems like a fragile item that I'd end up braking too easily.

I just wish they'd made a harddisk-based Touch ... would much rather have that than my 120gb iPod classic.

I would hold out for a 2nd Gen as well. Since when is Best Buy a seller of Apple refurbs?

That's pretty funny. Another person who thinks they bought a 4 gb iphone for cheaper than this. How much did that overpriced two year contract cost you?
