Finally a useful capacity. CircuitCity.com has the Apple 32GB iPod Touch $365 + $0 shipping = $365 shipped. It has 802.11b/g WiFi built in, plus Safari web browser + YouTube. Battery life is 22 hours audio, 5 hours for video. Includes five new applications: Mail, Maps, Weather, Notes, and Stocks. [BizRate]

An insane amount of money to pay for a music player.

#1, you must be very poor if you think this is expensive. I therefore pity you. *smirk*

Compare to ~$250 for an Archos 605 30GB (@ Amazon)...from that perspective the Touch looks overpriced. Another alternative is the 32GB Creative Zen (~$250 too). However, given the "open" OS, (decent) wifi, good touch-screen functionality, plus the smug coolness you'll feel by owning an Apple product, I'd say the markup makes a little more sense. Wink

Hah! Like #6, it's always poor people that can't afford Apple products who call them junk. FACT!

    m0f0,

I think pretty much everybody in this country can afford this but the point is that is to expensive for what it is.
I think if you don't care about the price then you should not waste your time looking for bargains.

I got mine on Amazon for $349 no tax no ship. Spent to much but seeing a 15 year old light up will be worth it.

    Let's not exaggerate here, OK?

    That is mathematically improbable.

It's definitely overpriced like anything from Apple. However this is a great device. At least it was until they updated their firmware and screwed up my entire WiFi situation with no option to revert back to the firmware that actually worked.

Until last week I thoroughly enjoyed reading the morning news on mine, using it as a remote control for my stereo, using it to remote desktop into the server in my basement, watching movies and TV shows while traveling, getting driving directions from it, and playing hundreds of free games and other apps for it. It apparently also plays music, or so I've been told.

You can get a Zune that holds 4 times the music/movies for $150 less. It does lack 3rd party app support and wi-fi but you can get those on your phone.

No WiFi, no expansion slot for BIG micro cards, ITunes fascist rules. Pretty much a gyp.
