I don't trust mac sysytems reliability.
#1, why? It's almost all the exact components manufactured for the mainstream PC world?
The Mac reliability for hardware is pretty much the same at the component level. Their OS is superb, however, and until Win 7, there wasn't much that could touch it for simple and reliable.
Yeah... you can build high-end gaming desktop w/ 24'' IPS monitor at $1300 not iMac.
You can also game on the Mac, if you don't mind playing the 10% of the games that got dumped to Mac as an afterthought, 3 years after they came out.
Oh, and not at any decent framerates, of course, because the graphics chips are the same as a cheap laptop.
[nvm]
And a Mac is better for what #5? I can't think of anything, except maybe crashing.
Windows 7 is much more intuitive
(nvm)
I have little to no problems with Malware or viruses on my systems at home, or on the 100 or so PC's I support at my office. I keep the updates current, and have a good anti virus package loaded.
Mac's don't need 4000 Anti-malware apps YET.
Apple has to remain a minor player, otherwise they will become a target for Malware. It's been proven over and over that the mac is more easily infected than PC's, the main reason the mac is reasonably safe is becuase the small market share is not worth the effort.
The higher defualt security in windows 7 / IE8 changes this.
As more PC's start running Windows 7, expect to see more Malware targeting Macs.
If you understand there are different things useful to different users, explaining how it is useful to you as evidence of it being better has very little relevance...or whatever may have been the point is of explaining how it serves your personal use.
Similarly stating what may or may not happen in mac's long-term virus future also has no relevance as we talk of such targeted solutions for people today.
As many have already put in their own words, you don't have to agree with the userbase that mac obviously serves, but to dismiss the need on grounds of other niche needs (g, PC gaming-power) merely demonstrates your lack of understanding of the market.
For the record, I have owned more PCs over the last 25 years than macs, but for the last 13 years have had both on my desk.
nvm
4000 anti malware apps? I've never found it necessary to use more than 1 or 2. Lol. I guess get whatever suits your needs, but I really don't see how paying the extra money for a computer with the exact same parts in it as a PC make it any better for anything. Two computers with the same parts will have the same abilities/limitations.
I'm holding out for a good deal on the the new 27" iMac with the Core i7 proc. I hear it runs Windows 7 well.
