Cant believe you can buy a top of the line NEW 10" Android tablet for $100 cheaper than a refurb iPad.
Wow
I find it very suspicious that the "hotness" (whatever that means) for this item is "sizzling," when the exact same item for the same price, which was posted earlier today (about 8 items below this one) has zero hotness. Is the hotness meter simply a tool controlled by Ben to artificially generate more interest in particular items?
It wasnt hot because its not from Apple and what's worst is that its even NEW. So that deal is not hot ?>?*&^ and its a giant $10 more expensive *&*^%.????
@Forbidden
What tablet is that? Asus Transformer is touted at "top of the line" but I dont see it at $249
used and outdated for $350. what's not to love?
For $549, buy a share of Apple stock instead whose price will continue to go up. That's a hot deal!
I think hotness refers to the amount of posts... if not then then clicks.
I have bought Refurbs from Apple in the past and I could hardly tell from NEW. PLUS they give you the same Warranty as a new one. In my opinion, not a bad Deal.
#2, the microcenter ipad is sold out and pickup only.
After having to deal with Apple's bogged-down website yesterday I managed to purchase this exact iPad for my wife. It would be charitable at best to say that she is not tech savy, and you definitely don't have to be to use Apple products as they control every aspect of the user experience from soup to nuts. She does not need the higher resolution camera or screen, 4G or even 3G as wi-fi is more than enough to do what she wants to do. Apple also has an excellent reputation on their refurbished products as well, so I felt more comfortable purchasing directly from them than from a third-party vendor.
Yes, I'm sure this deal with improve with time (although Apple is notoriously slow to reduce their prices), but they hit my price point and I had been looking to upgrade my wife's iPod Touch for her and this deal made me (finally) pull the trigger.
#9 micro center is an authorize dealer. It doesn't matter where you buy ( Walmart, target, mc ) warranty are all the same. All go the Apple.
Not a single Android tablet beats the iPad 2's GPU. The Samsung Galaxy Tab, Asus TF, and even the new Asus TF Prime sucked at GPU performance against the iPad 2.
The hotness bar was easy to make red because its an apple product and they want you to click on it. This probably ad probably should have gotten close to sizzling.
Hot---> Sizzling ----> En Fuego!!
i'll be the first in line for a new ipod 3
tuan2 - not all who sell Apple products are Apple authorized dealers. Even more important, not all who refurbish Apple products do so to the same specifications that Apple does. Where Apple will install a brand new outer case and battery, many third party refurbishers won't and are happy enough just to wipe the fingerprints off the original case and check to see if the original battery works - whether it holds a decent charge or not.
When you factor in the full year warranty (same as new) that Apple provides instead of the 30-90 days that is typical of an outside refurbisher then it's worth buying directly from Apple.
I've had friends who have purchased what they thought were brand-new iPods from a retailer who was not an authorized dealer only to find that they were "ghost shift" production from the factory and Apple wouldn't cover any repairs or problems. Live and learn, I guess.
But who wants to deal with a lousy iPad with its lousy Apple features. All the iPad has to show for it is the tons of apps on the app store. Who needs apps if you can spend the day mesmerized by the slick interface on Android tablets ! God only know why they are so immersed in their apps especially when it does not support the very stable and secure Adobe Flash. Those silly Apple fanboys they are so busy with all those ipad apps they are missing out on all the action.
