sounds like a ripoff than a deal. Honestly, I jumped off the iphone bandwangon last year and went to Android. I can do everything I want with Android (Tether, same apps, work email, VPN etc) and my Atrix 4GS phone cost me $0.01 + tax = $35, rather than $99+tax. Best thing is that I don't have all the frustration dealing with Apple iOS "my way or the highway" philosophy. I took the highway. Bye-bye Apple.

why buy this unlocked at close to $500 when the new one will be out in a few months. Whats the point? No contract so theoretically you can cancel your ATT service. Then you are left with a ridiculoulsy expensive ipod...

Well if it's unlocked you can use SmartTalk prepaid, $45/month for unlimited calling, texting and data (although apparently for them "unlimited" means 2GB).
They're Wal*Mart's MVNO and they use AT&T's network for GSM.

Smart Talk can use AT&T or T-Mobile phones, you just pick which you want when you order the SIM kit.

Also, you can't get those SIM kits in the stores as far as I know. You have to order online.

The unlocked works for people who travel abroad a lot and can put in any sim chip wherever they go.

the worst thing about owing an android is having to answer people as to why you are unemployed
