The quoted battery life of 24 hours is how long it will work before you have to take the unit back to the store to get a new non-user-replaceable battery

All Apple products need to be highly recyclable. They are totally fragile and their user community is so driven by image that they replace them even if they are working, when Steve announces the latest model.

You sheep should be ashamed of yourselves.

yeah too bad about the battery. i like apple notebooks and ipods/phones. some company should make batteries and provide instructions how to replace them.

Apple has consistently used non-eco friendly components for years. Dell actually tops the awards for green computing every year, while apple is dead last. It's funny how people don't realize this. They seem to associate Apple's brand with urban green living, even though it is completely false.

Despite Mr. Gore being on the board at Apple, the most eco-friendly iPod is none.

All sold out now. Just tried to grab 3 of the silver, then went down to 2, then to 1, no dice. Did this actually work for anyone? How did they sell these things for $120 when they just came out at $150? Was this a ploy to get people to go to the Nike site or something?

Maybe the problem, #6, is that the pink and SILVER have been reported as oos since the very first post in this thread. Then they were the only colors available. Who knows what the hell is going on... It lets me add three silvers, but they are priced at $149.

Oh boy, here come all the whiners saying F*** Nike and to boycott them along with Dell and Seagate once their order is canceled, or Nike gets all their billing info and the website errors out after hitting the "Submit Order" button.

You get the idea wrong, computer components are identical, not like you so called "non-eco friendly components for years".

DELL and apple computers are mostly manufactured by foxconn, just the manufacturing process for the appealing aluminum look have to sacrifice some eco friendly manufacturing process which Dell and other brands use cheaper and more friendly process like paint for the exterior enclosure... and Apple use natural ionized aluminum...

Hey #11, you mean anodized aluminum. Bet you don't know how they do that... it involves passing current through the part while in a bath of acid (probably sulfuric). Then it's died and sealed with teflon, nickel acetate, cobalt acetate, and hot sodium or potassium dichromate. Not so natural.

Has anyone else ever noticed how apple products are hailed as groundbreaking and revolutionary (and some rightly are), but they're always saddled with the same old restraints? Apple insists that you purchase their approved (and expensive) hardware to use their operating system and software. Microsoft lets you run their software on whatever hardware you choose. Personally, Microsoft (evil empire that it is) is looking less and less rodeo cowboy every day.

#13 - there's a slider switch to disable the shake-to-shuffle, useful when jogging
