I have a question about iphone -- does anyone know if I can insert my sim card from AT&T into the iphone and just use it like any other cell phone? I understand that I won't get internet browsing from the 3g network, but I can still use wifi to connect like an ipod touch, right? So it'll basically be a ipod touch, but a phone?

Yes you can, but AT&T will detect that you are using an iPhone on their network without the data plan and will automatically add the plan to your account and charge you for it. It is in their fine print.

I'm figuring Apple chosing to give away an iPod touch with MacBook purchases this week is a strong indicator they are trying to clear out inventory for a new model. So while I really want a touch, I think I'll hold on and see if something new hits soon.

Wow $350 for a 32Gb. I never hard workerto my ipod eversince I bought my first Archos. I recently upgraded to an 120Gb Archos 5, paid only $200 from Newegg. Beautiful screen. Supports so much more formats than Ipod.

#9, as far as the ipod touch and iphone are concerned, they are cool so why not pay the premium to get it? Hehe, but seriously, i bought my iphone because there's just much more you can do with it than a Zune player for example, or even other smart phones.
