Pass. 5th generation is expected out in September. If you really want one now, you can buy one from Target from 6/12-6/18 for $210 and get a $25 gift certificate, giving you a net price of $185 for a new Touch. The extra $10 is worth it to get a full warranty and a new unit.
Get an android phone and you will find yourself never needing one of these. Bought my wife one of these and have yet to see her use it after she got her Evo 4g phone.
If you want the best sound quality, do your ears a favor and get a Sony walkman. Ipods sound like crap.
