Note to Ben..bacon's a referb.
i would buy it... would
Same price at Apple store for a refurb
"Supposedly, an iPod successor with multi-touch capabilities, but until then the iPod Touch is still top of the line."
run on sentence. impossible to comprehend.
Why wouldn't you but iphone instead? It is cheaper and you get a phone. (it all assumes you don't mind at&t)
#5 cheaper? Explain that one to me..
#4 As someone who reads and grades a painful amount of college-level writing, I suspect the middle of the sentence got dropped. Maybe it should have read:
"Supposedly, an iPod successor with multi-touch capabilities IS CURRENTLY IN THE WORKS, but until then the iPod Touch is still top of the line."
These are refurbed for $180... I'm sure you can find new 8GBs for about that much, considering the EDU discount is giving them away for free with MacBooks, and some people are bound to not want to keep them and will try to recoup the cost of the computers.
agree with #8
Apple is coming out with a new itouch in September which supposedly has a video camera and a larger flash drive.
lol. Cost for ipod touch = $180
Minimum cost for iphone = $199 + (24 x 70) = $1,879
Totally the same thing.
Anyone replace a battery in one of these. New batteries are $19.99 and I'm considering doing it but don't want to kill it.
#12, I've done it on older iPods and it's a piece of cake. I can't imagine this being any harder.
There are a bunch of videos on Youtube with instructions on how to replace the battery.
#11, good job calculating it out. Where this person found it to be cheaper is mind boggling. They must not own an Iphone.
Nothing better then the ipod touch. I have the 32GB and use it all day everyday.
If you're going to buy referb. then only buy from the apple store so that you get the same warranty as a new one.
boo, c'mon is this really such a good deal to merit first page?
I would rather buy direct from Apple. Also, this is certainly much cheaper than the iPhone. I totally agree with #10. Hold off a while and get Apple's next rendition of this product. Or, skip the iPod Touch entirely and wait for this thing.

Looks pretty savage to me.
