I don't think buying a Mac from someplace other than Apple is a good idea. Plus, we're expecting Apple to release an update to the series in the near future. Wait if you can.

I don't think buying a Mac anytime soon. Can't justify for double spending on electronic stuff that I normally get a new one every 2-3 years.

It's worth spending more than the bare minimum possible, if you heavily use and depend upon your computer. I have waaay more than a few Macs $$ worth of crappy PC hardware sitting around that I don't have the time, energy, or need to fix and re-authenticate. You can buy several cheapie boxes until you find the one that's passable, or just pay that once for a good machine.

On the other hand, Harbor Freight is good enough for most of my physical tools. I don't get much use out of them, but by and large they have saved more than their price in professional fees.

Don't you have to believe in global warming, hang out at a Starbucks, and think it was George Bush's fault in order to be compelled to want to buy one of these overpriced geek tokens?

#9, #6, #4: You have too much time on your hands and not enough money. Try one. The MacBook Pro is not only the best value, and has the best resale value, the best customer service and the best user experience. Period.
