Hey, where is the SansaTV? Oh yeah, they haven't stolen Apple's innovative technology yet. *smirk*

This isn't a innovation dork! There were players like Mvix but they still use g only wireless as compared to this POS which uses g/n with an astounding 40GB (is that solid state drive?)

Scored one of the 160GB models at Fry's on Friday. The hard drive size is not prominently listed on the packaging so they made the mistake of marking all of them down to $229. If you're streaming content a lot the hard drive size doesn't matter as much. I was going to wait until the update comes out. But this made my decision easier.

Now I'm just waiting for the software update with the new features (#5) which I'm hoping will allow DVD image streaming.

Apple recycling. You get what you had before, but it's most often a worse product:

    Reply to #5/ducci:

Windows Media Center --> to a Media Center Extender (such as
Xbox360) hooked up to your TV.

    Read more on it here:

#5 - Though you can't directly stream from the DVD in your PC to the appleTV you can stream DVD quality images. I rip mine using handbrake at VERY high quality. I end up with ~2GB files per DVD and it streams flawlessly.

It's interesting how jealousy rears it's ugly head. Apple has it's share of problems just like Windows, problem is the almost fanatical Mac users and the just as bad Anti-Mac Windows crowd.

Cant we all just get along?

Im going to stay oldschool (and CHEAP) with my softmoded XBOX from the grand old year of 2002 running XBMC which will play just about anything under the sun(video, pictures, music, even apple's movie trailers streaming directly from apple.com)! Although, one notable exception is anything DRM'ed such as all worthwhile video podcasts available from iTunes Sad. Im sure that you could find a way around it (possibly by not using iTunes) but I haven't found the time in between watching xvid encoded tv series streaming from my linux box Razz btw the modded xbox will set you back about 60 bux if you do it yourself(cost of system included). See xbox-scene.com and check out the tutorials, especially good if you have an old xbox system in the closet collecting dust.
